Teletubbies Investigated In Poland For Being Gay

Tinky Winky's arch nemesis the Reverend Jerry Falwell might be gone, but that doesn't mean the little purple guy is in the clear.  Years after Falwell went after the Teletubbies member for being homosexual comes word that Poland's conservative government is ready to investigate the popular childrens characters for their gay tendencies.  Ewa Sowinska, a government-appointed children rights watchdog, told a Polish magazine Monday that she's concerned the BBC kiddie show promoted homosexuality.  She has brought in a team of psychologists to investigate and determine their sexual orientation. 

Sowinska was quoted as saying: "I noticed (Tinky Winky) has a lady's purse, but I didn't realize he's a boy.  At first I thought the purse would be a burden for this Teletubby...Later I learned that this may have a homosexual undertone."

Poland's far-right government is infamous within the European Union for discrimination against homosexuals.  Some officials have even proposed laws sacking teachers who promote the "homosexual lifestyle."
